Google searches that lead you to me...

I was checking my blogpatrol (which is an awesome site meter type thing) and I thought it was funny what searches lead people to my blog. So here they are:

I just laugh at what seeing what people were looking for, and knowing what they found on my blog. Awesome.

Blog patrol also tells me how people found my blog, and I would like to thank Olivia, because her website is my best 'referrer' beside google, go figure.

Warning: Political Post

In light of my current state of political confusion, I have given both parties and nominees an incredible amount of though and have come to the conclusion that the age old adage runs true, that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. I have taken that to heart and have decided to announce my candidacy for the 2008 Presidential Election. I will know tell you why I should be president:

I have great experience in foreign affairs.

I have worked in health care, and can therefore make educated decisions regarding what needs to be done about it.

I have leadership experience as President of HOSA (some classified government agency)

I understand what CD's are, and can use that knowledge to fix the economy.

And here's the deal breaker: my first act as President will be Free Ice Cream Friday, but only for those that vote for me. (you will of course have to write my name in on the ballot.)

*For any of you that may not know me so well, and for those that randomly stumbled upon this, I am JOKING. Just thought I would throw that out for you, but I have almost convinced myself whilst writing this post that I would be a good president. ahaha. But the real reason for this post is becuase I have been thinking a LOT about politics lately, because I don't want to place my vote simply on the basis of party, I want to have solid reasons TO vote for someone, not just reasons not to vote for the other person. Anyways, peace out people!

Pretty much famous...

yep, that's my logic. Forever Strong, a movie that came out awhile ago, was filmed at my high schools stadium, and since I ran there, I am famous too right? Yes, I would say that definitely puts me up there on the celebrity list. Plus, also, its not some little movie made by people in Utah, this is the real deal (I'm pretty sure.) But also, Mobsters and Mormons, Baptists at our Barbecue and Brigham City were filmed at least partly in Mapleton; the town with no stoplights. Bombdotcom.

PS: This post is a little dated. I found it in my drafts folder and remember that I had a hard time posting it but I still want to! Also, I haven't seen the movie, is it any good?

Dear Sister...

is a SNL parody of a clip from the OC, and to fully understand the video below, I suggest you watch this, the original, and then this, which is the SNL parody, and then this, and maybe learn the rules to the dice game farkel. If you don't want to invest that much time, just watch our version of Dear sister below:

I knew it!

I just watched a the SNL skit with Palin and Clinton, and I knew Tina Fey looked like Sarah Palin ever since I first saw her when she gave her first speech! Matt didn't believe me, but man do they look alike! Just thought that was funny. In the skit, Tina Fey even impersonates her SO well!

I love these stores...

I've been meaning to blog about both of these stores for awhile. The first is Vanity, and I love this store because it is the BEST place to buy jeans if you're not into spending a fortune on them, PLUS, they have the best size selection. This is pretty much the only place I buy jeans, because they come in waist and length. This is the place to go if you have a weird body shape (like me, who has to wear 37'' inseams, I can't buy regular pants even if they are longs). Anyways, the second is Susies Deals, where everything in the store is $5.99! It is freakin SWEET. I love that store, and I go there everytime I'm in Utah, they even have clearance racks, and I got a super cute cardigan for a buck. Sweet times! The pic on the left is from Susies Deal, I'm kinda digging it, and the pants on the right are from Vanity, they are the Carter style, so they are meant to live on my body! (plus they are boy style, which I'm loving at the moment)

Lonely Man

So, I don't know if you all know my impressive background in music, so I decided to show you. I composed a little piece this evening, titled: "Lonely Man" the interpretive dance was added after the piece was composed, and is performed by my niece, Sydney Carter. Please enjoy this melodic masterpiece

Health

Since starting to work in the Wellness Center and just in general getting into my major classes, I have started to think about health ALL the time. So I thought that I would post every once in awhile when I learn something cool in my classes. My thought today is on Cholesterol. I think EVERYONE should know what their cholesterol values are, no matter how young or healthy you may think you are. I was always surprised in my health classes how many people had high cholesterol, and these are young, health science majors. So, to get to the point of this, I have two easy things to help lower your cholesterol:

-When you make something with eggs, for every three eggs you use, take one yolk out. Sometimes I will do it even every two eggs. Eggs have tons of cholesterol, and most of it is in the yolk so this is an easy way to get rid of some of that without any effects on what you're making.

-Eat oatmeal for breakfast a few days of the week. Bile (made by your body almost entirely from cholesterol) binds to oatmeal and is carried all the way through your digestive tract. Therefore, your body has to make more bile, and use more cholesterol in the process.

Out of touch

Basically, Rexburg radio stations are WEIRD. It will play Frank Sanatra one song, then the next song will be hard core rap. I don't understand, and I don't like. So I am totally out of it music wise. What is some good music you guys have listened to lately? My sister suggested Rooney, anyone know them? Ya, I really need some suggestions! This playlist is still 'new' music to me:

If it doesn't work, it has songs like Kelly Clarkson "Never Again" and Stop and Stare by Onerepublic, so a little older

Bread

Yesterday, I really wanted some bread with honey butter. I decided to make bread in my bread maker. Man, getting that thing on my registry was the best idea I ever had! Who doesn't want a fresh loaf of homemade bread that took 5 minutes to make? (it does take awhile to bake) It was awesome. I would highly recommend bread makers!

New Job

I know, most of you thought I would never leave the waterpark. But I just started today working at the Wellness Center on campus. This is where you can get physical assesments to see where you are fitness wise, so like blood lipid profiling(cholestrol) and skin fold tests to see what your body fat percentages are. Anyways, I love it! To prove that I am a creature of habit, I am going to tell you why this job is just like Seven Peaks(my only other job)
1. I wear red!

2. I get to carry a clipboard around with me (I feel official with one)

3. I get to tell people what to do. (be more flexible, don't flip your tube, etc)

Awesome huh?

Shopping

For clothes for Matt for the first time since we got married! We have not bought that man ANY clothes since we got married. Is this normal for males? I probably haven't gone a few months at a time without new clothes. A few things I learned while shopping with Matt:
1. I find too many things I like, Matt can't find enough

2. I narrow my clothes selection by what doesn't look good on me, EVERYTHING looked good on Matt (my husband is a stud!)

3. Men don't have as large a selection as women, like two little rows at Old Navy.

4. Mens clothes are boring.

But I had a good time, because I have always wanted a boy to be my barbie and let me dress him however I wanted!

Salesman

I have a problem. I cannot for the life of me say no to someone when they knock on my door selling me something. I can pass people up when they are trying to catch you as you are walking, but when they corner me, I'm stuck. Matt gets frusturated with this side of me, so I am trying to do better. But today, they tricked me! Gosh... they were saying that they are in a public speaking class and have to meet 100 new people(I thought they were in one up here, so I was cool with that) and then they start telling me about this contest they're in and some long story, and they are selling magazine subscriptions! LAME. I was angry, and when I tried to tell them that I wasn't interested(see Matt, I did good for a second, and I didn't even buy the 2nd subscription they tried to sell me) they were like: "But couldn't you just help us out so we can win our trip to Europe," or whatever. Dang it ALL!!! Here is how I feel about this...(about 15 seconds in)

Luckily guys, the Nutrition Magazine that I subscribed to can be cancelled, and I am sending in that cancellation notice TODAY! stupid stupid. I NEED ADVICE!!! What do I do to not be such a sucker?

Jr. High

Being a Education Major means that I spend a good amount of time in Madison School District. Today, my class went to the Jr. High were we will be tutoring kids in their revisory/homeroom class. Jr. High is the best age, am I right? My teacher was explaining today what a posse was. (you know, like a sheriff's posse from back in the day)

Teacher: So, most of the time, the womenfolk didn't come along on these posses, do any of you know why that is?
Random eight grade boy: Cause they talk too much! (this was not stated as a guess, but a firm statement)

I laughed. Little kids are the greatest. I'll keep you all posted on any other funny things I hear.

PS, since I know some of you will want to know what my teacher was going to say, it was that women were too busy keeping the world going around at the homesteads.
Ya, this is me in 8th grade, laugh all you want. (I had to look in my yearbook today, so I could remember myself in eight grade... and so I could see if I was every possibly that small!? I wasn't, by the way)

I have several videos on youtube (yes, I must be famous!) but today I discovered the coolest thing! It's called youtube insight and it gives you so much info about your video. Like where its the most popular, how popular it is compared to other videos, and how many times each DAY it is watched. Awesome! Apparently, my backstreet boys movie has been viewed in several other coutries! All you other youtubers out there should check it out!

Cool Place in Rexburg.

Last week, we went with our friends to get free stuff off our starving student cards, and there was some stuff from the BRC and We're Twisted. The two are combined, along with Franks, with an eating area in the middle. That place is so cool looking I think, so here are some pictures. And oh yes, the frozen yogurt and pretzels weren't bad either.

First Day of School!

Here are our traditional first day of school pictures. They aren't the greatest since we were going to be late, but we had to take them because it's out last first day of school! For me at least, Matt still has graduate school, but like that counts.

Top three reasons I love school:
*Spending 200 dollars on one book
*Teachers emailing me telling me how hard their class is, and to drop it now!
*All the precious pedestrians that walk right into traffic, without looking both ways. Oh how their parents failed them.

Sometimes I love Walmart clothes.

Yep, I said it. I LOVE Wal-Mart clothes, well sometimes. Mostly just when I have been deprived of a decent clothes store for awhile. (our closest mall is like 35 minutes away, and Matt doesn't like to shop) The problem is that most of the time, the clothes look better on the hanger than they do when you put them on, or they do one tiny thing (like a weird embroidered flower) that makes the whole thing ugly. Have you noticed that? Anyways, last night we were there and I got a jacket that I think is really cute! Am I just deprived, or is it cute? (its warm so I'll still wear it, even if you think its ugly) PS. I am loving the high collar! It kinda pops out in the front when its on.

Made my day

Matt and I were going to go camping with all of his brothers and sisters. We were going to meet in Boise because that equidistance from everyone(about five hours). Anyways, Matt and I got there on Friday night, and it was about 11:30 PM when we pulled into the spot that we were supposed to camp, sadly enough, it was full. We were both too tired too look around in the dark for another camping spot so we rode back into Boise and got a hotel room. In the morning, the hotel gave us breakfast vouchers for a resturaunt next door. We went over there and got our little voucher breakfasts(and I mean it literally when I say LITTLE, like a piece of bacon and toast). While we are eating, our waitor comes over, lays a twenty on our table and said that the gentleman who had been sitting in the corner wanted us to have dinner on him! We were both so suprised! Wasn't that the nicest thing ever? Wow, that guy made my week, no month. We were both so confused why he would leave us money, when Matt turned around to look at where he had been sitting, I started to think I might know why. The back of his hair was a MESS. It looked like we had slept in the car, the man probably thought that we were starving to death! Matt had holes in both knees of his pants (we were going camping) and we were using our cheapy little vouchers. Haha, we laughed. So we still have no idea what brought on this nice gesture, but we loved it! And if the guy that left us the money happens to read this, thanks SOO much, it made our day. And as my friend Robin said when we told her this story: "My faith in humanity has been restored!"

Here is a picture I took of Matt right after we got back from breakfast. He looked pretty ghetto, but it was all I could do to get him out of bed, much less do his hair.

Finally finished the bathroom

I repainted our bathroom, tell me what you think! (the blue is the color I painted it)
