I'm still learning

you married people can probably relate. You know that moment, when you learn something new about your spouse, and you look at them and wonder who this person is? Man, that happens to me all the time. Matt is just such a unique person, really, I love him though. Once, I learned that Matt and his friend Phil were Hans and Frans in a talent show on campus, and called President Bednar (now ELDER Bednar) a girly man. Way to go boys. (they rationalize by saying that everyone is girly compared to Hans and Frans) Anyways... they also made a website. A website that I just saw for the first time today. Wow. I am lost as to how to explain this site to you, so here you go:Check out the full website here. Be warned.

Our husbands are great aren't they Robin?

Lunch Date

today after school I took Matty over some lunch and we had a picnic in the secret physics lair (password protected, no joke). Then Matt took/forced me to class with him. A smarty class. Chem 470: Inorganic Chemistry. Here are the notes I took.

I was determined to learn something. Alas, it was review day. Useless. Please note my counting electron notes... and they were all confused about it, silly smart people.

finally, we battled at ping pong. I tried Matt's hoopdee grip, and it actually helped drastically. I basically owned him. Fun day.

China Adventure

there are probably some of you out there that thought Matt and I were just dreaming when we said we were going to China... but such is not the case. We just turned in our 'papers' (the only time I'll get to say that) and it is definitely on. We talked to the man in charge and he wants to send us to Xiangtan, which is in Hunan province, which looks beautiful. I am very nervous, but really excited! Don't worry, you still have time to get your fill of Kristal before we begin our adventure abroad, as we will not be leaving for China until August.

P.S. Any one wanting to join us should consider it. Families are welcomed! We are going with China Horizons.

No can do

Remember how I wanted to try those long dresses that are everywhere now? Guess what? They look HORRIBLE on me. Matt even agreed, and he doesn't ever have an opinion. I wanted them to look cute real bad, so I gave them several shots, but alas, long dresses were not meant to be worn on my body. That is one style I will not be pullin this summer. Dang.

Am I mean?

for thinking that if you have to be told that you can graduate faster by going year round, that you have no business being in college?
Granted, people may not know that they can go year round... but I still laugh whenever I see this on my homepage, I also smile because I think they picture is pretty, I am really into the whole green & white thing right now.

Cowboy, take me away

haha, so I really wouldn't consider Matt a cowboy (although, he claims to know how to ride a horse) but the point of this post is that I am craving some camping. Hardcore. Mostly I just love sleeping outside, its so romantical, and it has always been my favorite part of camping. Perhaps this weekend Matt and I will pitch our tent in our backyard. That would be wonderful.

I made some of the girls in the dorms do this with me back in the day, and it was really fun sleeping in our courtyard. Too bad I was the only one that lasted. The rest of them went in during the night, big babies. (I brought those tents from home for this specific purpose.)

I have also decided that one day, if me and Matt end up as rich as we are planning on being (haha), then I will have a bedroom that has a retractable roof. That would be the best, sleep under the stars in the comforts of your bed.

Happy Spring!

It is officially the first day of Spring! I can honestly say I have never been so excited for it in my life. Hope you all can see and feel the sun today! Oh, and Matt and I picked up our caps and gowns today, man Spring is exciting!

Trackin it up

We had our first track meet yesterday, and it was really fun! I like being a coach because A. I get my own seat and B. I don't have to be nervous for the meet, I get to just chill and watch! Here I am with some of my girls!

Don't be hatin'

It bothers me when people are like this:

This was on my Invisible music video. They said they liked the movie, but then they have to pick out the ONE thing that bugged them. And plus, that 'dude' was a girl, wearing a 2 dollar wig that we cut to look like Clay Aiken. Why do people have to rain on my parade? Just don't say anything! I didn't make you watch the movie. Quit hating on me! I know at least Nicole will agree with me! (we had a talk the other night about people leaving mean comments on our blogs, its just not nice people!)

Things I love about today

besides dorodango, I love the fact that the sun was coming up while I was on my way to school. (The sun usually comes up after I am there) I mean, how can you not be excited about the day when this is right in front of you?

I got Matt to iron my hair last night (with an actual iron, my flat iron broke months ago, much to my dismay) so it has been wonderfully straight and long-feeling all day! I also sprayed myself with a touch of instant bronzer last night, so I don't feel so white and my eyes look a little bluer! I also love the collar of my jacket, it just makes me feel so sophisticated when I wear straight hair with it. Also, the sun was shining enough today that I made my PE class run outside. What a fabulous day it is today!

P.S. People always think that I am glaring at them with some sort of death stare(enough so that one of my college professors once stopped class to ask me if I was upset at them) looking at this picture helps me understand why. I guess I just have an incredibly hateful blank stare. Sorry if my angry eyes have caused you to believe that I was going to inflict physical pain on you.

Dorodango

is the Japanese art of making shiny 'mud balls' with just dirt, water and your hands. This is what Matt and I were doing with our dirt and strainer on Monday(see below)... I would have just told you then, but we weren't sure if they would turn out. Matt saw it on Mythbusters, and he was determined to make one. Last night, he succeeded. They are pretty freakin complicated. I gave up Monday night, but Matt slaved all day yesterday with his little dirt clod, with some pretty cool results. I was beginning to think that this was all a hoax, until Matt's little ball began to shine.
My hot husband turned this:

into this:

And then to this:

Pretty sweet I think! My husband is such a stud. He also did this-> because he got dirt all over my kitchen

Mystery Monday

Can anyone guess what Matt and I did for FHE tonight with a strainer and a bowl o' dirt?

I didn't think so. Too bad I'm not going to tell you, its a secret

Excellent

Just cuz we were bored a couple of weeks ago, Matt and I made a mii to enter into the 'check me out' contest. For those of you that don't have this channel, or a wii, it's were you create mii's to fit a certain theme, and then people vote on them. We entered two, and both were ranked 9th level (we think out of ten)! We felt pretty proud of ourselves. We will definately be entering more miis in the future! If you don't have this channel, I highly suggest you download it.
the one on the right is 'Matt' with our 'outdoors' person mii. Sorry for the terrible quality. I have yet to learn how to take pictures of the tv. Have any of you entered mii's?

S, Devil or just a cool sweatshirt?

This is one of my favorite sweatshirts:
What do you see in the blue circle? I never really thought about it, since the traditional 'S-devil' is on almost every piece of high school clothing I own. But sometime I get weird looks in the grocery store... and I think it is because of the devil on my clothes. For those of you not affliated with SHS, what do you see? Is it an 'S', or a devil? That would be just great if it looks like I have the devil on my shirt, and fire in my eyes (for those of you at my marriage ceremony). Happy Valley II is going to kick me out for sure!

insider trade secrets

Just like asking for it 'animal style' at in-n-out, you just have to know to ask for the 'crazy crust' at Little Caesers, it's one of those things you just have to know.
Basically, it just means that they turn their five dollar pizza into more of an artery clogger for you, for free. We don't get Little Caesers a lot, but when we do, they slather up that crust with butter and parmesan cheese for us and its delicious. Just thought I would let you all in on it.

Too soon?

Matt and I are going to be leaving Rexburg in April (to be more precise, our stuff needs to leave the second saturday of April and I keep feeling the urge to pack. Am I just getting anxious to leave, or do I really need this much time? If people come over and my living room is bare are the going to think I am weird for starting to pack a month early? I just don't know how long it is going to take to pack everything... what do you think? I am useless, because I have only moved my single self (over the course of two days) and Matt's single self... right after we left the temple, on our wedding day (that took about an hour). What is a good approximation?

My favorite snack!

I love popcorn. Whenever I make popcorn, people always comment on my strange popcorn maker. I always thought it was normal, because it's all my family ever used. It seems like other people in our neighborhood had it too, but since I moved away no one has ever seen one of these! I really like the popcorn that it makes, and I have never had to butter it! Air popped is just to dry and blah for me without butter, but this is perfect. You make it with a little oil (use canola oil!) so its not dry, and its a healthy snack! Just thought I would share this with you all, because its the bomb.

Umm delicious. Come to my house and I will make you some! Had any of you heard of this, or is it a Utah thing?

borED

Matt and I never do anything anymore... the only 'hangout' friends we have in Rexburg just had a baby, moving us drastically down the priority pole. Making married friends is a lot harder than making single friends, so we haven't tried real hard since our other friends moved (you know who you are!) If you would like to be our friends, please apply below, references recommended but not required. Please save us from a month more of this:

*Also, just a random side note, I am quite sure I am using my parentheses incorrectly. I am sorry if this bothers you, and if this is the case, please inform me of the correct usage.

Planning Ahead

Sorry my blog has turned into all things spring lately, but you fellow Rexburgians will agree that this weather is taunting us! Sunny, Rainy, sunny but freezing... you get the idea. Anyways, I was looking through a Toys-R-Us catalog that was in my mailbox (one of the perks of apartment living) and I saw bike trailers! If I have a baby in warm weather, this will be the first thing I purchase. My mom used to get us all snuggled up in our pajamas and blankets and take us out in the evenings to get us settled down for bed. Ah man, those were the times. I am really excited to put my babies in one of these and ride around the hood at sunset with my Matty!

The greatest thing about them, and the reason I love them, is because you can hook it to your bike, or put down that handy wheel in the front and use the handle bars to use it as a stroller too. Genius! Maybe I will buy one now, I will be living by my neice and nephew this summer! (Oh, P.S. my neice and nephew are cuter than your neices and nephews)

My summer styles

Since I have to dress up everyday for student teaching, I am highly looking forward to the time when I am back in jeans on a daily basis, and that has me thinking of summer clothes. I'm thinking this summer I'm going to go for the whole hippie look, so I have modified some of the outfits from Forever 21, so that they could be things that I actually could wear. I'm not sure I could really pull these looks, but it was fun to photoshop them! I am loving the headband she is wearing in all three pictures... the arrows are things that I had to add, the knee length shorts, t-shirt and shrug. I really love those type of dresses that are on the right, but I am not sure I would ever be brave enough to try one.

But honestly, we all know that this summer I am going to be wearing alot of this:
Fashion wise, I'm pretty boring in what I'll wear.

Prince Edward Island

I really want to go there, and apparently, tons of other Anne of Green Gables fans do as well! So much so, that the island has named one of its four main tourist areas Green Gables Shore. Haha, I thought that was too funny. I could watch Anne of Green Gables over and over and over again, and I'm pretty sure I can quote most of it, pretty much my favorite EVER. The island looks gorgeous too.

Has anyone been there? Or, just tell me if you would like to watch the movie with me, or travel to the island with me. Plus, I know how many of you want to say that that you had a crush on Gil, I know I did!

Kristal vs. The Machine

You may have won the battle, little Intensity, but I will win the WAR! Just you wait until I show you to someone that knows what they are doing and you will be sorry that you ever misbehaved for me!

Just a side note, I love my vacuum, its hot! I think I just abused it though... so it has mysteriously stopped working. Mostly I am just upset my clean front room does not have a vacuumed floor...

Motivation

I usually have clutter on my kitchen table (nothing to serious, just like cereal and junk mail that needs to be thrown away) so this weekend at my mom's house, I asked her if she could make me a happy little flower arrangement for my table, and she did! On such short notice, she didn't have any 'spring-y' colored flowers, but she had some that go with my kitchen (red and white) I love it and it makes me happy to clean off my table and put it right in the center. Thanks mommy!

But I saved a DOLLAR!

Went in to get my shots for China today. I am a little afraid on needles (but who likes them?) and it was NOT bad at all, it felt a little bit like a butterfly landing on my arm.(personally, I am suprised they could even pierce my skin, considering my resistance to bullets) The worst part is the price tag, I got Hep A, B and teatnus today... and I saved 1 dollar by getting the Hepatitis in the same shot! (hurray, the price of a syringe) it was still 94 bucks! And it will be 94 for the next TWO shots in the series. Lame-o. I guess its money well spent, as long as I never get Hepatitis.
If you are under 18, you get these shots for like 6 bucks a pop... I would highly suggest that you do that instead.
