Xi'an and some terracotta awesomeness

Remember on Gilmore Girls, when Rory is planning her trip to Asia with Logan? (ya, I finally conceded to watch it) She talks about the Terracotta Soliders in Xi'an (she says Xi'an a little funny though). Well, they are pretty cool. Freezing, as was the rest of our trip, but nonetheless impressive.

This Emperor wanted to have his army with him when he got to the afterlife, so he had an army of terracotta warriors constructed. There are over six thousand of them, and no two are the same. It's pretty crazy. They were only found like thirty years ago, by just a regular farmer guy. The warriors were a little worse for wear in that they were in pieces, but they are being put back together now.

I know! Wasn't Xian amazing!? I loved it. Some people thought it was anti climatic or something but I really dug it.

Hey Krystal! Looks like you guys are having an amazing time in China, I'm jealous of all you've done.
Thanks for the comment on my photo blog. I don't shoot with an xs anymore, I upgraded a tiny bit to a T1i which helps with clarity and quality. I will tell you though that more important than camera upgrade is your lens. The one you buy with the camera...well, it basically stinks. I can tell that is what is going on with your photos, I mean, they are still good, but it's your lens quality. I got a small and affordable ($100) 50mm f1.8 lens and that makes a ton of difference. My next lens (f2.4 24mm-70mm that's coming today!) wasn't that cheap, but I am so excited to see what I can do with it. And my next camera upgrade will be to the 5D (still a dream, since it's so expensive). Good luck to you and have as much fun as possible in China!!!

I never realized you had a blog! I probably just spent an hour reading all of your posts so I could kind of catch up on your life. It's so crazy being grown up and seeing all the awesome things my friends get to do. Pretty strange to think that I haven't seen you in almost four years. Hopefully we can get together for real next time we're both somewhere close to Utah. :)
