End of January

Woah, February? Already? Beware, I got my little 50mm lens out this week, and the result is a ton of pictures. I love that little lens, if you have an SLR, I think it's definitely worth having! This week was lots of trips to the park and play dates with friends, just my kind of week.

Kate is a drooly little munchkin! And she pretty much always has her tongue out.

It happened, the inevitable 'struck by a swing'. Momma wasn't quite fast enough to grab her out of the way when she walked in the line of fire.

Week Three

I'm almost surprised I am still with this, and even doing better! I didn't miss any days this week, and can I just say I love it. I didn't think I would. I thought it would be a pain, but would be worth it if I got into better picture taking habits. Such is not the case. I love it. Trying to find picture worthy moments in days when we are just being lazy has made me realize how beautiful life is, as cheesy as that may sound. It has made me appreciate the day to day, and get rid of the excuse 'we didn't really do anything, that's why I have no pictures'.

 I was talking to my Grandma on the phone the other day and I told her I was trying to take a picture every day.

"Really? That's a lot! I don't have very many pictures of my kids. All we have are a few black and white pictures. I wish I had more." 

I had never thought of it like that, like having a camera was such a blessing. What a privilege it is to be able to document my kids life so fully. I never realized how much I take pictures for granted. To be able to take more pictures of my girls in a day than my grandma has of all her kids for their whole childhood makes me feel a little guilty I haven't taken more. Here's to project 365!

 

Today

I'm going to do it. All that project 365, Project Life, one picture a day... whatever you call it, consider my hat tossed in the ring. I'm two days late but I figure missing two days is better than saying I'll start next year, or never. Natalie is sick, I'm sick, I think Kate is sick(that or she is just starting to act like a normal baby and be a little fussy) either way, we are all in our pj's and have had movies rolling all day. 

Doesn't poor Natalie look so very pathetic and sad? Sick babies just break my heart.

Like I said, might be sick, might not. She smiles all the time this girl.

I'm not usually much for New Years resolutions, I tend to like to act when inspiration strikes. I guess this year the stars aligned and my motivation to change just so happened to coincide with the start of 2014. That, or I'm very prone to peer pressure.
